PROGRAMS

The Joseph & Vera Long Foundation envisions a society that preserves the natural resources of the world, creates opportunities for children and youth to thrive, provides adequate care for the afflicted, and supports women. In line with this vision, the Foundation contributes financial support to not-for-profit organizations involved in the communities of Northern California and Hawaii.

Our primary approach is to invest in organizations that are dedicated to strengthening and supporting the community and committed to the responsible, efficient, and effective use of the Foundation's assets. The Foundation periodically approves large, multi-year strategic grants that are focused on achieving a specific, defined impact. These grants are made at the discretion of the Board of Trustees and may not be solicited. The Foundation also makes responsive grants that aim to meet the needs of the community. These grants may be solicited using the process explained on the Apply page.
